Washington State University is a public research university located in Pullman, Washington and founded in 1980. It is the state's first and largest land-grant university and offers more than two hundred fields of study at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. It is listed by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as as one of ninety-sex public and private universities in the United States with "very high research activity". The campus is huge, comprising of some six hundred and twenty acres of land. In terms of athletics, Washington State is a member of the Pacific-10 Conference. The school's mascot is Butch T.
