The University of Kentucky is located in Lexington, Kentucky and founded in 1865 by John Bowman. Originally, it was called the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky. It is the highest ranked university in the state. The university houses sixteen colleges, a graduate school and nearly one hundred undergraduate and masters programs, and sixty six doctoral programs. The university has fifteen libraries on campus. In terms of athletics, the university has a somewhat interesting story of how its slogan and mascot came to be. In 1909, the chief of the military department stated, during a football match, that the university's teams had "fought like wildcats", thus attracting the costumed mascot which debuted in 1976. We invite to support this university by perusing the wonderful, high-quality picnic and lunch items on offer here.
